Pop Warner Midwest Regional Division C CHAMPIONSHIP

The FCA Force traveled to Michigan City, Indiana for the Pop Warner Midwest Regional Division C Championship. The game was played at beautiful Ames Field located in Michigan City, Indiana. The game was a hard fought battle, back and forth between the two teams for the Division C Title. The Force came up just short losing the contest on a last second field goal by the hosting Laporte team.

The Force got on the board late in the first quarter when quarterback Nick Johnson hit wide receiver Amir Williams on a fifty yard touchdown pass. After the missed conversion the Force held strong for most of the first half, allowing a TD run by Laporte just before half time.

The second half was more of the same for the contest. Back and forth, back and forth, neither team could move the ball during the cold / damp day. The Force found themselves victim to a barrage of penalties throughout the second half, playing most of the half on their own side of the field. The defense continued to hold strong despite the field advantage mostly with Laporte in the second half. With under three minutes left in the game Laporte mounted a running attack that took them inside the ten yard line. Eleven second left on the clock, fourth and goal from the three yard line and Laporte calls timeout to lineup for a field goal. The snap came back and Laporte's kicker hit a line drive that clear the cross bar by inches, moving the score FCA 6 vs. Laporte 9.

Coach Dave Rucker, along with the rest of the coaching staff address the team following the game. Clearly emotional, coach Rucker told the boys he was proud of the efforts and told them, "We gave everything we had today. I am very proud of you boys." The season has come to an end for the 2018 FCA Force football team, moving their overall record to 5-5.

The Force will be back in 2019, bigger, stronger, and faster. Congratulations to the entire program on a tremendous season.
